When I am Weak
Who are the weak?
Who are the strong?
I was meditating on this verse early one morning, thinking that even though my physical body has varying degrees of weakness, I am a strong person in a spiritual sense. And I want to be an encourager and a support to people who are struggling. As I left for my exercise class, I was feeling confident about the strength I have because of Jesus.
That exercise class. It wasn’t long until I was slammed with my weakness. I can’t even balance on one foot without hanging on to a chair! All those thoughts of weakness nearly overwhelmed me!
After class, as I sat in my car I wondered, What just happened? How did I go from strong to weak in an hour?!!
Lord, when I am overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.
And He shows me His promises.
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Ephesians 3:16.
Oh yes! He will strengthen me by His Spirit in the inner man!
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9.
So grateful for Grace.... but glory in my infirmities? That’s a tough one, yet once again I will say, Yes, because of His Grace that the Power of Christ may rest on me!

Are there people in your life that make you feel “less than”, inferior or inadequate? Recently I was with a group of people that somehow have a way of making me feel that way— or do I say, I allow them to make me feel that way!? I guess you could say it’s another kind of weakness. Instead of letting myself feel inadequate and insufficient, faulty and flawed, the truth is that, in Jesus, I am complete, enough, strong, sufficient, adequate — and not only adequate, He gives abundance!!!
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57
Yes!!!
Yes!!!
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7
Strength or weakness? So much of it is in our thoughts and mind!
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5
Don’t listen to those lies that speak against Gods truth and His promises! Bring those thoughts captive, believing and obeying Him!
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:10 ESV
2 Corinthians 12:10 ESV
When I am weak, then am I strong!
I love this song, Everlasting God! It starts out reminding me that strength will come as I wait on the Lord!
